Here at AMS, we pride ourselves in upholding what we consider are the three most essential pillars to sustainability: people, planet, and prosperity. We don’t just provide customers with locally made artisanal products of the best quality – each step of the process is carefully planned and monitored to ensure that it is done in the most sustainable way possible.

People
As an agrarian society, history has taught us time and time again that the key to a prosperous nation with the ability to feed millions of people, is the people themselves. Agriculture work heavily relies on the sweat and hard work of folks who decide to dedicate their lives to feed others. Our success depends on the success of each individual that has poured time and passion into the ground.
AMS prides themselves in being first and foremost a people-centered ecosystem. We keep as much of our operations local; we embrace local farmers and hunters, consult with tribal chiefs and local governments, hire from local universities, ensuring that all we do benefits the native communities. We also have programs and initiatives involving resident universities and government bodies – we both teach and learn from each other useful knowledge and skills that advantage each organization involved.

Planet
AMS as an idea first came to fruition from a seed of love that was planted in an urban farming class our founder took in UCLA. She saw the care and dedication her professor put into creating whole ecosystems within the confines of the UCLA community garden, and decided to implement that on a larger scale. AMS farms are designed according to Permaculture Design Principles, where each element and organism complements each other. We cultivate our land in a way that allows it to thrive through natural, mutually beneficial relationships with very minimal human intervention. AMS merely plants seeds to allow nature to do what it does best: take its course.
Before designing the farms, our team went through multiple classes and courses to be certified Permaculture designers. Our team is taught and fully trained to first listen to the earth’s needs, and work in synergy with nature instead of against it. Unlike modern conventional farming, our design and operational methods not only benefit the earth, but also our farmers and consumers. Creating whole ecosystems cuts back on the farmers’ workload, and allows us to provide fully organic, pesticide-free products for your consumption.

Prosperity
An operation is not fully sustainable if it doesn’t sustain itself in the long run. Prosperity for AMS, however, reaches more than just financial terms. We work towards a future where all entities that work together with us will prosper in all aspects.
Our farming methods ensure that we preserve rare and local flora and fauna. Hiring locals allows us to boost the local economy, allowing families everywhere to obtain higher living standards. We keep close contact with native and indigenous leaders to make sure our work and philosophy aligns with their own community goals.
Our work with universities empowers Indonesian youths, and encourages them to be more involved in the nation’s food systems.
